As you know that cdtv is technicly cdrom installed version of Amiga 500, these cdrom abilities embeded on extented rom beside ordinary kickstart.

I decide to upgrade my cdtv, so I started with kickstart, I swaped kick 1.3 with kick 3.1,I did it but unfortinetly CDTV did not boot up, then I google a little search for this event and I learned that I have to upgrade extented rom as well

These chips are U34 & U35, 27C1000 is the suitable eprom which has same pinout as mask rom, but I coud not find any in my stock, I have 27C1001/27C101, these chips almost same pin lay out as 27C1000 only two pins must me swaped

It's that time of the year again...

A little late for christmas and sadly not finished, but rather barely playable, here's something new for your SNES.

The first direct port of a laserdisc game to the SNES, the first MSU-1 game and the biggest game on the SNES yet, at a whopping 6816 Mbit in size.
Msu-1 support is mandatory, so you will need either Bsnes or a sd2snes cartridge.

This thing is very unpolished, has a couple of graphical glitches and doesn't run in NTSC mode (due to v-blank limitations) yet, but I didn't feel like sitting on it any longer.

1. I changed leaked electroliqid capasitors

2. I installed 1uf capasitor to D215, for screen fixing,

3. Removed C123 & C125, for time fix

4. swaped ide port with brand new one

5. added transitor for pcmcia reset problem

6. removed RF unit

7. added usb mouse port instead regular amiga mouse connector, it is not just a port also has micro controller that transmit usb optic mouse data to amiga's mouse protocol

8. overclocked my bilizzard 060 turbo card by changing 50 mhz osilator with 60 mhz, it is works without any problem, but it gates very hot after 15 minutes, I have to add a cooler on 060

now time to apply belove fixes to the rest of my amiga 1200, lots of time needs

X-Copy is a well-known among users of Amiga computers program for copying floppy disks. The aim of presented device is to make a copy of the floppy disk, the result is stored as a disk image on the SD card. The image is stored in ADF format, it can be used in Amiga UAE emulator. Despite the ADF, there are also two other files stored: LOG – text file with the history of events and SFV (Simple File Vertification) – text file with the control sum CRC32.

eah, so I hacked the Sega Saturn Bios and removed regional lockout and CD authenticity checks. Obviously, that was the reason I was dying to get a Saturn a couple of days earlier. Thanks to an unnamed individual, I've got one now and promptly installed that modified Bios.

Good news first: regional lockout bypass works just fine on real hardware.
Install this Bios in your Saturn and play any authentic game in any video mode you like, no need for clunky switches or cartridges anymore.

The bad news: Although the CD authenticity checks in the Bios have been removed, CD-R copies still don't boot.
I basically have zero debugging capabilities on real hardware, so I can't really tell what the exact problem is, but credible sources suggest that the CD interface has to be unlocked by initializing with a genuine Saturn disc before being able to boot a game disc. This is rather unsatisfying, but I'm releasing this anyway, it's better than nothing.

I'll be getting a modchip for now and will have a look at this again once Dr. Decapitator has dumped the CD interface program ROM.
I could imagine that there's a debug command hidden somewhere that lets you boot CD-Rs without authenticating first. We'll see...

Also, if you plan on installing this Bios in your Saturn, keep in mind that the pinout of the original Bios maskROM is similar to the 27c800 and don't forget to byteswap the ROM before copying it to a 16bit Eprom. Btw, this hack is based on the japanese 1.01 Bios.

I have made my own replacements for PALs responsible for IDE interface. Now they feature PIO2 transfer mode timing. Any ATA-3 compliant device (manufactured after 1996) is capable of working in this mode since power-up. The maximum transfer rate is 8.3 MB/s. Actual values depend on your accelerator card.

All you have to do is to replace U901 and U902 with new GAL16V8 devices (my motherboard was equipped with reprogrammable PALCE devices so only reprogramming was required). Unfortunately to remove these parts from the motherboard hot air desoldering tool is required (don't forget to screen the daughter board slot to avoid thermal damage).

I also modified the scsi.device (last known version 44.2) back to use word transfers instead of long words as it's faster (setting A1 selects slower 8-bit access timing). The speed gain isn't impressive but it's worth the hassle (3.8 -> 4.1 MB/s). See attached scanned picture for A4000 IDE interface details. Interestingly the initial design was going to implement PIO0-2 transfer modes.

Here is a nice hack that comes directos Poland. Found by Yaqub you probably know, having worked on an extension for the Minimig.

This involves replacing two components that handle IDE 3.5 of the A4000D.

Indeed, the IDE ATA controllers have called PIO transfer modes. For our beloved A4000D is PIO mode 0 as they are released in 1992.

However, as time passed, new higher rates were added to this standard: we will install today PIO mode 2.

The upgrade is fairly simple, here are two Gals 16V8 in question:

It seems that all cards A4000D did not have the same Gals for what concerns us here. My programmer does not want. Not work:

A tiny working model of a retro computing icon offers a blend of nostalgia and sillyness.

My first computer was an Atari 400. My first disk drive was the magnificent Atari 810. Overwhelmed by a recent wave of nostalgia from playing Zork for the first time in 30 years I have built a working model of an Atari 810 that uses 8Gig microSD cards instead of 5 1/4 inch floppies to emulate up to 8 drives. Maintaining the relative dimensions of drive to media, the model is somewhat smaller than the original.

Some numbers

The original 810 managed 90k per disk and had a volume of about 30,000 cm3. Assuming a 8Gig card the new version can store about 90,000 disks and at 5 cm3 only takes up 0.000167 times as much space. So it is a lot bigger and a lot smaller. Progress eh?

How it works

The Atari 810 (and subsequent 1050) drives are "smart" serial peripherals. The Atari OS communicates drives, printers, modems and devices using the SIO ("Serial Input/Output") protocol. SIO devices connected to the Atari with a chunky 13 pin connector.

The Atari addresses 5 bytes commands to peripherals by lowering pin 7 (Command) and transmitting 19200 baud asynch serial on pin 5 (Data Out). If the peripheral recognises the command ('1','R',1,0 for a read from disk 1, for example) it acknowleges the command and responds with data on pin 3 (Data In) at a pokey 19200 baud by default. Pin 10 can supply 50ma of 5v.

Hardware

The hardware is pretty simple: a LPC1114 microcontroller, a microSD slot, a 3v3 regulator, a led and some caps. I used the 1114 because they are cheap and I had them lying around after building the Wikipedia reader: just about any 3v3 micro with SPI and a UART would also work fine.

The enclosure is a 3D print from Shapeways. This is the first time I have used them and I have to say I was delighted bt the experience. My inexperience in 3D modeling is evident butShapeways sent me a lovely collection of little enclosures in various materials. I tried to make it as small as possible and still accomodate the microSD card. Testors enamel completed the look (make sure you mix in some olive with the light tan and cream).

Software

The microcontroller code emulates up to 8 Atari drives. At power on it checks for a microSD card, mounts a Fat16 or Fat32 file system and scans the card for .ATR and .XFD disk image files commonly used with Atari emulators. It also looks for XEX files which are Atari executables, another emulator mainstay. The code then "inserts" the BOOT.RUR image into drive 1 and waits for the Atari to start sending commands during bootup.

BOOT.RUR is a UI app written in C and compiled with cc65. Because the drive has no input or display we use this app running on the Atari to select disk images or applications. Cursor keys select the image or xex application, moving off the left or the right edge of the screen will page the list. Keys '1' ...'8' will insert the selected item into drives '1'..'8'. The space bar will eject the disk, the return key will boot the selected image or xex. If an xex is selected, the firmware will synthesize a kboot disk image to load and execute it.

It is electrically possible to write an Atari app that can reflash the firmware but so far this is left as an exercise to the reader. The board pinout happens to be the same as a FTDI serial cable so inital firmware downloads can happen through FlashMagic.

As noted earlier, 19200 baud is pretty pokey by modern standards. Other drive and dos vendors came up with various tricks to make the serial run at 38400 or 57600 or beyond. This board supports a common 57600 baud mode so if you tire of the nostalgic thweep-thweep-thweep you can speed things up a bit by using MyPicodos or similar.

There are lots of good commercial and open source emulators and serial cables that are much more complete (and a little more practical) than this one. I am amazed at the continuing innovation on this platform: check out Yoomp and Crownland and compare them to titles released in the 80s.

The new memory expansion card A604 for the A600 offers all the features that its predecessor A603 already had:

1 MB additional Chip RAM (expanding the A600 to 2 MB Chip RAM)
battery-backed clock
clockport for A1200 expansion modules (*)
Expansion socket for Indivision ECS

The A604's new design allows to mount an Indivision ECS without losing the floppy disk drive (which was a problem with the A603 card). Additionally, the A604 now features a second clockport especially designed for the Subway USB controller module. This second clockport can boast a performance gain of 60% compared to a standard clockport, so the Subway's USB transfers are faster than ever before.

(*) Only clockport modules with a cable can be used, e.g. Delfina, Catweasel Mk2, or Silversurfer Limited Edition. When using the second clockport, modifications to the metal shield may be required (if the shield is present at all).

The A604 can be installed through the trapdoor bay on the bottom without opening the case. However, it is recommended (and may be required) to open the case when installing additional modules.

For operation of the real-time clock, a coin cell (type CR1220) is required, which is not included (but can be ordered separately).

it is spring time and I started my working again after along time, yesterday I purchased 16 in 1 game cartitdge for neogeo mvs for 50$ from another collector in istanbul, I have not tested it yet but, Ichecked the list and I sawed some bootlegs games, it is not the best archive but it is fine

Also I pluged 68060 cpu to my PPC which arrived a couple days ago, it works at 50 mhz without any cooling fan, yesterday I swaped 50 mhz osilator with 64 mhz then result is perfect 50 mips, its great speed for a 20 years old machine

Before overclocking 68060 I read some articles and some messages from amiga forums, 66 mhz is stable speed for 50 mhz 060, but some guys tried faster speeds such as 80 mhz, and they says works great, even on an atari project by using SDRam they ran 50 mhz cpu as 100 mhz.

Also Today I bought 2 64 MB Edo ram for my ppc, so amiga will run 130 mb ram :)

A couple years ago I bought PPS 040 turbo card for my A2000 from Soner, unfortinutly I could not used card because Amiga 2000 did not boot when I installed it. Today decide to test card with my newest amiga 2000 main bord, its revison is newer than previous one and luckly turbo card works well.

irst I started with removing real time clock battery, its been over 20 years passed it seems fine, a little acid leak eaten some pcb's top silk but it has not reach to the traces

I used some flux before using solder iron

My mainboard revision is 4, it is the first revision soldto public, it has 512kb chip & 512kb fast, as you know that 512k is not safficient for kickstart 3.1, so it is time to swap 8371 fat agnus with 8372 which can hande 1 MB Chip memory

this is the default fat agnus on revision 4 A2000 mainboards

I swaped fat agnus which I removed from Amiga 500

Not only swaping fat agnus sufficient, we have to change 3 jumper position

The new ACA630-25 Stealth is an accelerator for the Amiga 600 that's a lot faster than you might think, judging by it's moderate clock frequency. The cause for the outstanding performance is the high-speed memory that comes pre-assembled on the card: 32 MByte SD-Ram connected to the 68030 processor at optimal speeds. As a result, the ACA630-25 is about 24% faster than an Amiga 3000 that's clocked at the same frequency. To reach this high performance, we've clocked the memory twice as fast as the processor, and we skipped on an FPU (floating-point unit). We think that this gives more benefits than drawbacks, because the ACA630-25 is made for everyday use, for games and simple applications on the Workbench- you require integer performance for this, and this is where the ACA630-25 excels.

The ACA630 introduces radical new mounting and cooling solutions: two small screws keep the card in place, and an anodized aluminium cooler serves as a replacement for the harddrive cradle, which must be removed. We recommend a flash-based mass-storage solution, as a real harddrive would cause too much heat and also would not fit under the keyboard.

The ACA630 is designed to fit with our other products. Even with the limited space inside the A600 case, the A603 memory expansion andIndivision ECS fit nicely with the ACA630.

If you have removed your internal floppy drive in favour of an Indivision ECS, the ACA630 can assist in two ways to get around the long wait that's caused by the missing drive: You can either build a completely floppy-less system by setting the No Disk jumper, or you can turn an external floppy drive into the df0: drive, which lets you boot games and other track-loading programs.

If you need to run very old software that will only work on the 68000 processor, the ACA630 can be completely disabled.

There are more optimizations under the hood that can be selected conveniently with the ACAtune software tool:

The MapRom function allows copying the kickstart-rom (256k, 512k or 1MB) to fastmem and use it like a normal ROM there. This speeds up most operations significantly, because large parts of the operating system are located in the kickstart ROM. The MapRom function is similar to the Fastrom-option that the Amiga OS CPU command offers. However, the ACA630 does not requrie the MMU for that. If you require the MMU for a different use, there will be no conflict.

Re-Kick:
Similar to MapRom, a Kickstart image is stored in Fastmem where it will apear just like a ream ROM chip to the user. The different is that the Re-Kick option does not use the Kickstart ROM as a source, but a file from your harddisk. After a re-boot, the new Kickstart is available, and it stays active until the next power cycle. The ACA acceperators are the first commercially available products that support true 1MB kickstarts!

c0mem:
This will simulate an Amiga 500 memory expansion of 1MByte or 512k. Some games and programs require this exact memory configuration and would not work at all, despite the large amount of memory in the system: They just don't support 32-bit memory. The A500 memory expansion is within 24-bit boundaries, so this special software can run on an ACA630 equipped A600, but it would not work at all without it.

Fastchip:
This option allows faster access to Chipmem (graphics mem) of the accelerated Amiga. Please note that this is a tuning option that may or may not work with all Amigas or Chipmem expansions. You'll have to verify this for your particular Amiga.

FastZ2:
This option speeds up PCMCIA memory expansions. Just like with the FastChip option, there may be setups that cannot handle this kind of acceleration. This tuning-option must be verified for your individual setup. If in doubt, you should switch it off!

Chipcache:
Typically, the CPU caches are switched off for Chipmem, otherwise certain actions may cause crashes. However, there are certain configurations where you may want to allow caches for Chipmem. Consider this a tuning-option for experts who truly know what they're doing!

z2cache:
This will activate CPU caches for PCMCIA memory cards.

noFastMem:
Allows to switch off 32-bit fast memory. This will slow down the system significantly, so software that doesn't run well on an accelerated Amiga can be used again.

As a final downgrade option, you can limit the amount of available Chipmem: Games or programs that cannot cope with larger amounts of Chipmem can be made compatible by reduciong the Chipmem size to 1MB or even 512k.

How to Jailbreak PlayStation 3 on 3.55

Step 1: Plug a USB stick into your computer
Step 2:Download PS3UPDAT.PUP file.
Step 3:Create folder PS3 and then create folder UPDATE inside it.
Step 4:Unzip Jailbreak.zip to PS3UPDAT.PUP and put PS3UPDAT.PUP filein /PS3/UPDATE/ folder of your USB drive.
Step 5:Power down you PS3 console and put USB drive.
Step 6: Now press and hold the power button, the system will startup and shutdown again.
Step 7:Release the power button, then press and hold power again, you’ll hear one beep followed by two consecutive beeps.
Step 8:Release power then follow the on-screen instructions. You’re now in the recovery menu.
Step 9:Connect the USB device and select “System Update.”
Step 10:Choose Update via Storage Media
Step 11:It will say it found Version 3.55-jb
Step 12:Choose OK
Step 13:Accept Conditions and Install Update
Step 14:After less than a minute, your PS3 will update, beep 4 times then shut down.
Step 15:Power up your PS3 (You will have to do it on the console and not by the controller)
Voila!! You PS3 console on firmware 3.55 is jailbroken now
How to install Packages on Jailbroken PS3 3.55

Step 1:Plug your USB stick into your computer
Step 2:Drop http://geohot.com/test.pkg into the root of the USB stick
Step 3:Plug your USB stick into your PS3
Step 4:Navigate to the Game Tab
Step 5:Choose Install Package Files
Step 6:Select the test.pkg
Step 7:After it installs you will find the test package from geohot installed below the Install Package Files folder

Note: With geohot’s PS3 jailbreak, you /can’t/ play backup games or /pirated/ games or whatever you choose to call them. You can install packages with the provided installer. Geohot will be releasing all the required tools to sign the homebrews soon.

Geçen hafta önce custom firmware 3.55 çıktı, usb doungle olmadan onun yaptığı key inject işini firmware e gömülü şekilde release ettiler. Dünde daha önce 3.41 e göre compile edilmiş yazılımlar 3.55 e göre yeniden release edildikten sonra artık usb vasıtasıyla istediğimiz programı ps3 in içine atabiliyoruz

My last amiga one which I took from amiga OS 4 tester told me it has speacial uboot, when machine boots it shows amiga one logo on screen.

It is unlike my previous amiga one bios, it's version is 1.20. I dump this uboot and program to a new 29f040 and started to use wtih Amigaone SE

While I surfing I saw a diffrent pcb of Jeff's SD flopyy emultor, in this pcb, designer removed 5V regualtor 7805 and 3.3V regulator, swaped with just an smd stand alone 3.3V regulator.

Pcp is smaller than the orginal one, it is reduced by removing lcd space and using smd components instead of dil components, I try to make one prototype from this, when I got a new laser printer cause mine is gone to the hell :)

Amiga 600 & Apollo 630

My primary Amiga 600 hangs while try to load sysinfo, so I made a quick search with google and I saw that Apollo 630 can have trouble with FPU, then I open the cover and I see that it has cpu but in syspeed it does not recognised fpu, I found a 68882 from another turbo card to swap with on Aploo 630

I pulled the chip and cleared pins and socket then I inseted again, bingoo the problem has ben gone now A600 does not hangs on sysinfo and recognised 68882
